Vincent S. Coster is a multifaceted artist with a long career as a poet, writer and, more recently, visual artist who uses photography to create.

He began writing poetry seriously in 1996 and published his first book, The Folk Hero Midget, in 2001. Since then, he has published nine collections of poetry and two anthology collections. He started painting in 2000 and exhibited twice as part of the Unselected Show at The Bad Art Gallery in Dublin, which featured images not selected for the RHA summer exhibit in 2008 and 2009. He also exhibited paintings from his nighttime series in The Art Fair at the Winter Gardens in Bournemouth in August 2012.

Severely colourblind, he often uses exaggerated colours or images using a single colour painted in shades. While painting, he started using photography as a memory aid, due to his aphantasia. He soon began experimenting with photography as an art form, taking it up as a serious expression of his work after the pandemic, when he began shooting street photography around England, where he was living at the time.

His art career took a back seat after 2010, when he moved to England and became a stay-at-home dad. He continued to work on digital art pieces and shoot photography during this time, but it was not until he moved back to Ireland in 2024 that he decided to pursue his practice as an artist and photographer.

He also offers several photography packages to businesses and individuals who need imagery to promote and drive their business and brands.

He views his work as a poet, painter and photographer as tools in his desire to create pieces of art, and brings this commitment to his commercial and commissioned work.
