Discussing Alone With Everyone on South East Radio.
Last Thursday (June 4th), I joined Alan Corcoran on The Morning Mix on South East Radio to talk about my new book, Alone With Everyone. It was an opportunity to introduce the project to listeners across the South East and to outline the themes that shaped the work.

Why a Professional LinkedIn Headshot Can Help You Get Hired Faster?
A strong headshot does not magically land you a job. Anyone promising that is selling more than they can deliver. But it does increase visibility, credibility, and engagement, which improves the odds that recruiters actually stop scrolling long enough to read your profile.
What to Wear for Professional Headshots in Ireland?
One thing I find that people worry about when getting their headshots taken for LinkedIn or their actor resumé sheets is what they should wear. Of course, the goal of having these photos taken in the first place is the desire to look your best, so that a prospective employer will see that you are their candidate when it comes to getting that job.

Alone With Everybody. My New Photography Book.
I've spent a long time walking streets with a camera, and the question that has always nagged at me is a simple one… are we really together when we're together?
That question is at the heart of my new photography book, Alone With Everybody.
Scenes from the closing night of wexford drama festival.
This year was my first year working with it, and I was just observing the event, seeing what they do, the players, and the organisers, and how I can capture the scene without interfering. Because in my work, especially for events like this, I want to capture not just the formal but the candid and while many will use flash in such a low-lit environment, I like to push my cameras to their limits in capturing images without flash, so that skin tones look natural and we don’t have those annoying glares in spectacles.
What is it about my photos?
Some people have looked at my pictures and have said that there is something about it that they cannot put their finger on.
So I thought I explain what it is about my photos, especially the later work that makes my photos unique and gives it that hard to explain something that some people have mentioned to me.
Coming Soon, Drone Photography
I have recently obtained the drone and the required certification from the Irish Aviation Authority to legally fly a drone.
To that end I am now practicing the flying and manoeuvring of the drone and will soon be offering a package of drone photography
Shooting in Public spaces. What we should know.
We had gotten what was needed for the shoot anyway, and there is no need for a pointless argument. I thanked her politely, and we went to gather our stuff. That is when she tried to tell me, in a matter-of-fact kind of “I have the power” tone, that I was not permitted to use any of the photographs taken on the premises.
Now, up until then, I was in the frame of mind of just moving on. But when she then decided to tell me that I could not use the images I had made, I decided that I would inform her that she was grossly mistaken. Because she was very much grossly mistaken.
Shooting in the Rain
One of the things I tried that day was shooting through a plastic bag. In part because at one point the rain shower was very heavy and I didn’t want my camera getting soaked, but also because I wanted to see what kind of effects I would get if I shot through the plastic bag. I think I need a little more experimentation with it.
Seven Scenes From Wessex
Seven Images from around the region in England that formed the ancient kingdom of Wessex. Dedicated to all the people I truly love there.
Why content photography matters.
You want your client to feel happy spending money in your place, because they know that you will spend money to draw them in. Also, if you want to stand out from the crowd, why would you use AI or stock imagery that they can use, or post the same DIY content that they are using?
Photo Drop.
I decided to share a few photos I took recently.
I take a camera with me everywhere now because there is always something going on, some sight that, under the right light, catches my attention and makes me want to shoot it
Wexford Festival Opera: The Opening Salvo.
“… rather than sit around socking my head and lamenting the lack of response, and how it put an end to my desired photographic project of showing the opera festival from inside, I decided to focus on the way the event touched on the local community through various pop-up arrangements.”
Video Promotion: How I can shoot your portraits while out and about.
I thought I would post this video I recently uploaded to my social network channels (Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube) to show you a sample of the kind of portrait work I have done over the past few years. Some of the pictures are posed, while others are candid photos taken as people go about their business. One of the kinds of shoots that I offer is being hired to shoot people having a day out and wanting to capture the memories of that day. Sometimes this requires the candid shot rather than the posed.
Basic Income for the Arts is being rolled out. (But it’s not all good news.)
… the arts are not some silly indulgence. The arts are a major revenue-creating industry that punches well above its weight despite gross negligence and derision by policymakers and the wider public in general.
